THE STUDENTS OF HISTORY EDUCATION UNY INVESTING NATIONALISM VALUE IN CHILDREN IN BANDUNG, MIRI, KISMANTORO, WONOGIRI CONDUCTING HISTORY TELLING
Primary tabs
The issue of nationalism among Indonesia's young generation has faded is a problem that occurs in the current era of disruption. This can be seen in the attitude of the younger generation who lacks discipline and responsibility so that the realization of the value of nationalism needs to be instilled early on. This background resulted in Asyif Awaludin Romadhoni, a student of the History Education study program FIS UNY, to create a community service program that is Cultivating Nationalism Values through History Telling to children of Dusun Bandung, Miri, Kismantoro, Wonogiri. This activity was carried out during UNY's Community Service Community Service Program (KKN-PPM) on 9 September-1 October 2019. This service was carried out by Asyif, assisted by his colleagues in the G256 UNY KKN Team in Guidance and Learning activities at SD Negeri 3 Miri. The essence of this program is storytelling history. Children like to be told and like new things, so their hope is that they will be entertained with historical stories, for example the story of the late Mr. BJ. Habibie hopes they can imitate the discipline of him, said Asyif. The activity is an individual program of UNY KKN-PPM activities undertaken to develop human resources in the field of education. This activity is in accordance with the theme of KKN-PPM UNY 2019, namely the Development of Human Resources in the Field of Education and Entrepreneurship. Asyif also added his hopes besides the program besides entertaining the children of Bandung Hamlet, Miri, Kismantoro, Wonogiri, but also they could emulate the positive attitude of the hero figures. This activity received a very good response from the SD Negeri 3 Miri and PKK women in Bandung Hamlet. Harini Ika, Principal of Miri 3 Public Elementary School said that the History Telling activity was beneficial for students in addition to character building but also provided teaching ideas for teachers as well as tips on parenting for parents.
